I was inspired to set up this image by a painting I saw by an extremely talented artist on the Vineyard named Heather Neill.

It’s fun to stop splashing waves with a fast shutter speed.

Sometimes, a beautiful mermaid will sun herself on the rocks.

Another wave stopped in its tracks.

This image is self explanatory.  But, I don’t know why people leave their shoes here and walk across that hot sand!  That is why God gave us shoes!  It’s fun to watch people do the Hot-sand dance as they head back to their car.

This is a ringed bill gull.  There is no such species as a seagull.  They all have their own designation – Ring billed gull, Laughing gull, Black tailed gull, Ivory gull, Great black backed, Gyrfalcon, etc., etc.  In fact, there are more than 20 different species of gulls, but there is no species called “seagull.”  “Seagull” is an all-inclusive term denoting all gulls.

See, by following my blog, you might learn something.  I learn something every time I post one.

I love this image.  The green background almost makes the gull pop off the screen.

A couple of ospreys are guarding their home.

A great way to spend a few relaxing hours.

One pastime on the beach is to see how many rocks you can stack.  I did not do this, but the person who did was pretty good!
